GTA V Radio Empty
PostSubject: GTA V Radio   GTA V Radio Icon_minitimeTue Jan 21, 2014 9:18 am

Yo

Dunno if anybody feels the same as me, but personally, i think the soundtrack for GTA V is rather pathetic... It has some okay songs, but i don't think it gives off the LA feel anywhere nearly as good as San Andreas did. So, what i started to do a while ago was put together my own playlist of a whole bunch of tunes that i thought either should be in the game, or just generally give off that LA vibe.

Gonna need some help though, as i'm not a super computer so every song i have in my head doesn't jump to the front of my mind and scream "I'M SO LA!" Razz

Throw some tracks at me that you think would fit in GTA V, bearing in mind the scene that's set by the game. It's supposed to reflect LA, and i'm talking all of LA. We all know they've got gangsters, but they've also got skaters, sunbathers, big celebs, car nuts etc etc

Here's what i have so far (broken down into genres/radio stations):

Rock
Queens of the Stone Age - Go With the Flow
Queens of the Stone Age - 3's & 7's

Hip Hop/Rap
Game Ft. Tyler, The Creator - Martins Vs Goblins
Kendrick Lamar - Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe
Lupe Fiasco - Bitch Bad
Kanye West Ft. Big Sean & Jay Z - Clique
King Fantastic - Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic
Deadmau5 Ft. Cypress Hill - Failbait
A$AP Rocky - Fashion Killa

Wu-Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M
Wu-Tang Clan - Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing Ta F' Wit
Eazy-E - LA Is The Place
Tupac - Picture Me Rollin'

They did get some songs right, hence why you're seeing songs that are already in the game. And, it might seem odd, but i actually like quite a lot of music, so i've left opportunities for good Jazz, Country and Golden Oldies :PI would put anything 90s to now as current (hence why Classics doesn't say 90s). I'm hoping to get this quite full (at least 100 songs), as the GTA V soundtrack is really starting to bore me... So throw them at me! I don't want to seem like a dictator, but i will listen to the track first and decide whether i believe it should be in there or not :PHowever, in the interest of fairness, some of my choices may be questionable, so if you strongly disagree with a particular song, let me know!

The annoying thing about this, for me, is that because i want to make it authentic, there are even shitty pop songs in there that i personally don't like... But i want you(or me, or whoever listens) to feel that they're hearing the right music while driving around Los Santos and Blaine Country.

I'll take care of the country section. Wink Though it might b difficult to find country songs that specifically talk of LA, lol.

I'm not asking for it to talk about LA, i'm asking it to give off the LA vibe. To be honest, i think country's just country. It's more specific to Blaine County and the Sandy Shores area anyway, so i guess it doesn't necessarily need to be as LA as the rest of the songs.

I hope you get what i mean Razz

Well, you're talking to a guy that blasts country music in a GT-R and a lifted Jeep, no matter where he is. So I think that while music is attached to a specific region, it still can be used any where. But we will leave it at that. I think I'm the only country guy in all of MnM anyways, so. /shrugs

Oh no my man, not at all. I listen to everything, including quite a bit of country. I'm listening to Cadillac Three "I'm Southern" right now as I type.

Yeah, I first heard those guys when they were called Cadillac Black, and I liked the vibe. Now I'm listening to the Nelly remix of Florida Georgia Line's Cruise. On the offroad thing, hit me with a FR and I'll log into Xbox.com and accept it, and we'll have to get people together for some GTA soon.

I USE to hate that song, but it's grown on me a bit. Adding you now, dude. We ought to be able to get at least seven to ten folks together for fun.

Nice idea, but basing off of the "L.A. vibe" is a rather week inspiration. Why not just base it off of just plain ol' good music? That's what I do, I just play my iTunes library on my xbox while I play it.

Because if i wanted to play just good music i'd do the same as you Razz

GTA III soundtrack was a crowded big city/NY style soundtrack.
GTA Vice City was a 70s Miami style soundtrack.
GTA SA was a 90s LA style soundtrack.
GTA IV was a crowded big city/NY style soundtrack.
GTA V should be an LA style soundtrack, but they did a bit of a crappy job in my(and a bunch of other people's) opinion.

I want a playlist that i can expect from a GTA game, that gives off the vibe of the setting. That sets the atmosphere that you should feel while driving around. You don't really get that with the soundtrack, at least not with the very limited soundtrack. I want a nice big soundtrack that makes you feel like you're in LA. It's not much to ask.

I know what you mean, i listen to just good music when i'm playing all my other games. But i don't just want to listen to my library and songs i know when playing GTA, i want to hear new music, good music, music that i should be hearing/listening to while in LA.

I appreciate your input/opinion, but i don't care if you don't agree with the idea Razz Simply don't contribute. Or contribute anyway and don't listen to the playlist.

I am just saying if you go to L A right now, you can ask Addie, it is just music from all over jampacked into the radio. Similar to most of California.

Yah.. I understand that regions are not locked with music specifically for that area............

But you know very well that there are songs that give off a certain vibe, and there are a bunch of songs that give off an LA vibe. If you don't understand the concept, just don't worry about it and leave me to it Razz
