In August of 2010, Naoki Nakamura of Team Burst was arrested for touge drifting. He was publicly shamed, and stripped of his previously awarded D1 position and victories.

Touge drifting is where it all originated. It's where Keiichi Tsuchiya, the godfather of drifting got his start. Not a single member of the council heading D1 can say they haven't taken to the pass - the proof is all over the internet. And yet, young Nakamura is dishonored and cast aside for being one of the unlucky few that got caught.
Some say this is what led to Tsuchiya leaving D1 to help form Drift Muscle. At any rate, whereas the media put a shameful spin on the scenario, it only fanned the flames of the young grassroots drivers who look up to and stand behind Nakamura-san.
The honorless dogs of the mountain passes across Japan. Their howls can be heard in the earliest hours of the morning, when most civilized people would be in blissful sleep. At a time when most dream, they leave their mark on the winding, narrow passes. Through smoke and flashes of light, they emerge, ghosts of a time thought passed...
