Convince me to get FM5 Empty
PostSubject: Convince me to get FM5   Convince me to get FM5 Icon_minitimeWed Mar 12, 2014 11:13 am

Later this summer I'm getting a Xbox one. I need to know a few things

1. Do the engine swaps sound like what there based off. Like does the LS sound like a LS. Does a rotors sound like a rotors ECT

2. If I build a big turbo SR. Then build a V8. Does it Change the charicteristics of the car? Like if you floor it in 3rd at 3K RPM it'll light em up instead of lag?

3. Are there any DLC comming out with cars that weren't from other forzas? Or tracks

4. Does drifting feel better or worse then fm4. Can you actually make a 450hp s13 keep up with a camaro?

1. The sounds in FM5 are insane, watch some vids on youtube and you'll see.

2. Yes, the motors each bring different characteristics to each car. A V8 with a turbo acts different than say an RB26.

3. Here is the only Achilles heel to Forza 5, the lack of tracks. However the track DLC we've gotten so far has been free, and looks to continue that way. The lower number of cars than FM4 doesn't get noticed due to the fact that EVERY car is RWD swappable so every car is a potential drift car now.

4. Its not even a comparison. FM5 is leaps and bounds ahead in the physics department. There is a learning curve to drifting/drift tuning, but so worth it when you get it. Also, I have a 360hp B class Datsun 510 that keeps up with 550hp cars.

Thanks tiger. I was reading some garage threads in the fm5 section and it got me wanting to get it. I just gotta get other stuff out of the way.

And one of my fears was having half the cars. There was gonna be a over population of the same cars. But since everything is rwd swappable I can have my wierd drift cars still lol

Here's my opinion

FM5 is like nite and day to FM4. The handling, graphics, and physics are killer to say the least!! The motor swaps definitely make you choose the right motor for your needs. My problem with my LS swapped 240 is that the tracks i use it on i need high rpm power and find myself wring the V8 out but switch to the RB26 and its perfect!!!! Put the V8 in my FD and its a drifting dream!! You will love the traction aspect. Cars will wheelie on the street or strip with the right power. And with the right tune low power drifters can MURDER hi power cars!

No prob man, I think you'd enjoy it if you got it. I just VQ swapped the MK1 Scirocco and RWD swapped it. Super fun, lightweight low hp drift car. There are opportunities to do some unique drift cars for sure.

1. Yes, the engines sound amazing, apart from the 2JZ.

2. The physics are much better in FM5, so yes you'd have to tune around the lag in the turbo SR compared to the V8.

3. The DLC sucks this time around, we are only getting one new car and the rest are recycled cars from other Forza's.

4. Yes, DIS Boppinz has a 240 that keeps up with my R34.
