Doubt I'll be doing stories from now on, I'll keep you updated on what's going on but nothing major.

Bought an Escort, put a YB and some other nice things in there. Such a nice car, shame it's going to be bastardised.

Bought some ATS's and a new straight through exhaust system for it. Taking shape, slowly but surely it's getting there. Just trying to find a tyre manufacture that makes some nice grippy tyres that are small enough to fit the 14's on the Escort. Also working on a livery for it.

Ok, an overdue update. After I sold the Mustang (something I wish I never did) I went into a stupid phase with cars. I bought a lot and didn't do anything with them. This sucked hard becasue for one, I had no money to do anything with them. And for 2 I wasn't driving. Since paying for a house and the garage I was left with little money to live off nevermind paying for tyres. Then I lost my job, resulting in me selling all my cars, that left me with enough money to live for about a month. I had to quick sale so no money was made.

After about 2 weeks of job hunting I got another job in another warehouse. Got back on my feet financially and decided to check how Andy was. I called him up and arranged to meet him at the garage. It was nice to see him and the S13 again, it had been a while since we spoke. Even he had been out of the game for a while, he just used the S13 as a daily. We gave it a little service and got to talking about a return. Long story short we decided to bring Tandem Inc back!

I got home and immediately started looking for Mustang's, I've wanted it back ever since I sold it. I quickly found a nice one just outside of town in a Ford dealership. I arranged to go down and see it with Andy the following day. Again, cutting out long bits, I bought it. It's in better shape than the last one and a nicer colour too. The engine had been recently refurbed so all 300 horsepower was alive and kicking. The 4.6 sounded as tight as a drum and it drove even better. It feels so good to be behind the wheel of one again.

We also got another project, but more on that later. Wink

Plans for the Mustang are just keep it simple and keep it cheap. It's also a daily and with the winter season not much drifting will be happening. So yeah, I'll try to update tomorrow. Smile

Oh snap, the 2005 Mustang! Looking good. We may just have to put that thing on a track with it's brother, your previous Mustang GT.

Oh, it's never going anywhere! It has joined the E46, RS1800 and Z4 on the "Never Ever Ever Gonna Sell This Awesome Shit" list, lol. It truly has become one of my favorite cars to drift, MnM or otherwise.

I bought some brand new BC Racing coilovers from a store today, they are the exact same ones as my old one which is cool. They're listed as being used for street/track use, whereas the other type are for fast road/circuit. I figured these are the most comfortable ones. Well, they were alright in my last one so bought some more. I might look for an exhaust kit soon aswell, looking to have it sounding/looking sweet for winter!

Just a quick update, I attened a little meet with a few other drifters. I hung with the Street Sharks crew. A bunch of chill dudes, and they even hooked me up with a couple stickers for the Mustang. Since it isn't being drifted as much I zero'd the camber on the rear and put abou -1.2 on the fronts. When the season starts back up again I'll increase the front to somewhere near -4.0 for ultimate skdding things!

All good bro. They have been sitting in my spare parts bin for a while, figured they deserved some use. I have another set of the exact rims that are extras from my Vette, so I'm still covered Cool .

Bought a Roush cold air intake today online, should be here in the next 2-3 days hopefully so should be fitted by Friday. Saturday at the latest. Also bought some more stickers for it, liking the look of it now. Turns heads on the street too, which is nice. Might look into a new exhaust kit for it when payday rolls around.

Got a friend who works at a Ford Racing place and told me they got a shipment of ARB's if I was interested. Not something I thought about before but decided to buy them seeing as he could get them for me now. They're not adjustables but they are quality products, maybe when the season starts back up I'll get some fancy ones.

PostSubject: Re: Tandem Inc.   Tandem Inc. - Page 10 Icon_minitimeSun Nov 10, 2013 4:58 pm

An update on yesterday.

I got the Mustang to the garage early morning to prep it for the matsuri, since me and Andy aren't really in the scene as much we rented out a ramp and some space. It was taken by a dude with a RHD S14. The car had been in the garage for about a month, the owner and I had become good friends. We help eachother with cars and stuff, I've driven his S14 a few times. Nothing major, just in the car park outside the garage. The S14 has been in several competitons this past season, taking podiums in some! It's a real monster.

The car has a blacktop SR pushing about 345bhp, no sponsors, this guy is going full privateer. Anyway, we got to talking about the matsuri. Unfortunately, he can't attend, but he suggested that I use his car for it. Since the Mustang is my daily, if the worst were to happen I would be left without a car. And he said he wanted it to be ran hard for the last time this year before he rebuilds the motor over christmas. I accepted and he lent me his rig and trailer to tow it there seeing as it wasn't road legal..

After we loaded it up and filled it with as many tires as we could I set off on the 3 hour journey. I have never driven on the track we were going to, so I was extra nervous for that and for the fact that it wasn't even my car I was driving. I had no idea how the car wa set up, I had a vague idea since I worked on it a few times but I had no idea how it was going to handle.

Got there ready for the first outing, got the car off the trailer and headed straight to the line, no time for introductions. I recognised a few cars on track. The first few laps were me trying to figure the driving style of this car, after the 3rd lap I got a bit more confident and started to throw it around more. It had plenty power to get it moving in the corners.

Tandem Inc. - Page 10 10785912235_67fbc297ec_z

After the first session was over we headed back to the pits for a tire change and a chat. A few people asked where I got the car, they knew I wasn't the owner and must have suspected I stole it lol. I got talking to a few people an before long it was time for another drive. We only got about 5 laps in a group of 4 due to the amount of people. Cars were placed in classes so the people I was with were easy to drive with.

We entered the track and headed for the first corner, I initiated too early and ended out having to straighten up and straight onto the grass. Didn't break anything so that was a bonus. Got straight back on it and had a good session. Still not confident enough to tandem but getting there. Back in the pits I got some food and cleared some of the gravel out the car. The car has been used all year so the parts weren't in the best condition and the engine was kinda sketchy, nothing a good rebuild won't sort out with some fresh parts.

Tandem Inc. - Page 10 10785913415_a577425f5b_z

Third time out I got a little closer to people, I felt like I was quicker on the first transition than some people so I took that oppertunity to try and get close to people. I got quite close to one guy in another S14, but it was towards the end of the corner so I had to back off to not hit him on slowing down for the second turn. Was all good fun though, I span shortly after that so spent the rest of the track time on my own. No matter, would have to try harder next time.

Tandem Inc. - Page 10 10786168483_c3c90cbc85_z

My last time on the track was here, me and the other drivers decided to have a big entry contest. Who could crank the most angle on the last hairpin. The photographers were told and went to the corner. I was second in the queue, we all left some distance inbetween us and drifted the track as normal. We got the corner and the first car threw itself in, nearly got there just clipped the curb and span. My turn. I didn't have enough speed and just came to a stop in the middle of the track. I drove on the grass to avoid a crash, none of us pulled it off either. The next few laps weren't that great either. Last lap, now or never. I didn't drift the corner leading up to it, wanted enough speed to carry myself through. I flicked it in and pulled the handbrake a few times. Felt the car come around and pinned the throttle to the floor. Bouncing off the limiter the car came back! The photographers said I was a touch over 90 degrees, I was happy with that. A couple beat me by going completely backwards in there, but I wasn't fussed. I was happy that I could drift this car and be able to pull big angle in it.

Tandem Inc. - Page 10 10785909675_e5f6954f69_z

Loaded the car back up and put it back in the garage, met some good people and hope to drive again soon!
