So, what needs to happen to secure a championship: (If anyone one of the 6 win Irwindale)
Essa: Finish ahead of Forsberg, Finish at least Top 16; or Qualify first and finish 2nd if Forsberg wins with a qualifying position lower than 9th.
Forsberg: Finsh ahead of Essa, Finsh at least Top 8, or qualify 2nd and finish top 16
Aasbo: Qualify better than Forsberg and Essa, both need to get knocked out in Top 32 and come in at least 2nd; Finish 4th with Forsberg and Essa not qualifying, and Gittin finishing 3rd or worse
Gittin: Qualify 1st, both Forsberg and Essa need to get knocked out in Top 32 and win with Aasbo finishing 2nd if he doesn't qualify 2nd, 3rd if he does qualify 2nd.
Saito: Forsberg and Essa don't qualify
Pawlak: Good luck.
According to Driftstats.com, Essa has never made it to the Top 8 at Irwindale, where as Forsberg has seen success, winning in 2005, 2nd in 2007, and a 3rd in 2011. Aasbo, hasn't finished well with 2 top 16 finishes in his 3 times going to the track, but he did finish 3rd at Seattle, a track similar to Irwindale, behind Forsberg and Essa. Aasbo is the only driver this year to make it to at least the top 8 in every single round. So, who should win? Aasbo is going to have to have a lot happen, but he can still make it happen. Essa has to finish well to win this Championship, but so does Forsberg. It's going to be fun.
