Volkswagen Audi Group, and it's the most cliquey bunch of enthusiasts ever known to man. if you do an engine swap in one then it btter be from another vag car! post a non vag swap on one of.their forums and within hours there will be guys in white hoods on your drive burning a cross (maybe it won't be as extreme but they will tell you your the spawn of the devil)

but seriously I really don't like the feel of fwd's but they must be ok as so many of you love the balls off them

I'm not a big fan of the wheels. I might actually look into getting a Bora if I can't get an IS.

I've seen a lot of IS's on eBay. Majority are autos though.

There's a lot on Autotrader for decent price and the insurance surprisingly isn't much more then the usual shitty euro boxes.

Never looked into them tbh, they can look awesome though!

I've always disliked the way you have to wait in tight corners to ease in the throttle on a fwd, it's just personal opinion, added to the limitations of the platform.
In basic terms doing 90% of the breaking, 100%steering and 100% of the propulsion is not ideal
fwd is a cost saving exercise, I get that most folks find chucking them about a bag full of fun, I just find them all too safe and understeery, unless you force mild liftoff oversteer
awd is plain brutal and rwd makes me happy in my special place lol
all of which is exacerbated by my hatred of chavs and "lifestylers" that run cut springs to shove their car so far into the weeds it's unusable (i do love the look but without bags/dralics they've ruined the whole point of the car) the cars are almost always fwd haha
