1990 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II

Build Sheet:

Setups:

While I was enjoying my time tearing up the streets of Colorado, I kept hearing about the insane car scene in Australia. We've all heard crazy stories from down under, but when racers started flocking by the hundreds.. you know it's getting hot. It was time to go check it out for myself. Before my plane landed, I found (what I hoped was) a stock '90 RX-7 in Winning Silver Metallic on eBay and purchased it sight-unseen. Thankfully I didn't get screwed. I immediately had it resprayed in Montego Blue Mica, gave it a mild refresh, and hit the road.
-
I've scoured a handful of swap meets and scored a few deals on parts. My lucky-ass won a widebody kit over a Christmas raffle, and with the wider stance she slices the corners a lot better. I've since upgraded the turbo and (finally) the exhaust system to support a larger turbo. I'm going to keep on dishing parts at her until I blow the motor up.

1991 GMC Syclone "Twister"

Build Sheet:

Event Setups:

I managed to spot the tail end of this truck while I was cruising through Coober Pedy, taking a much-needed break from the Goliath run. The owner parked it in the barn in 2000, when the engine spun a crank bearing. The engine ultimately locked up, but the drivetrain was still intact and in really good shape. I picked up a Chevy 6.2L from Sliick for the price of a rebuild kit for the 4.3 and got to work swapping. I'm still tying up loose-ends, but it'll be ready for the road soon.
-
After a busy month of racing the Rex around, I finally had a chance to take out the Syclone. I almost immediately blew up the transmission. I could have seen that coming. I probably did, I just wanted an excuse to swap out the transmission with a fresh 6-speed. Not wanting to waste a couple extra gears, I fit the LS3 with a set of twins and fashioned an adjustable spoiler for the rear. The paint was sun-baked beyond restoration, so I just had it sprayed in an off-the-shelf Matte grey/black that oddly enough looks like the original trim color.
-
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure how the tires lasted as long as they did. But when it finally came time to replace them, I found something with a little style. Competition is heating up for the old Twister. It was time to look into a new boost controller unit. Some shopping around lead me to an AMS-2000 Boost Controller Pro. A step under their top-of-the-line ProMod. This unit has a LOT of potential, and brought boost peak up to 22psi. The LS3 spins up to 806hp with some additional tuning provided by the AMS-2000 BCP.

1968 Dodge Dart Hemi Super Stock

Build Sheet:

I finally found a sweet Mopar to tear up the streets in. I grew up in a '67 Dart so picking up this Hemi-powered A-body was like putting childhood memories and dreams in a blender and hitting "smoothie". I bought it off of a friend who supercharged the original 426 Hemi and swapped the transmission out for a 5-speed.
-
For a long while I mainly just kept this car clean for local car shows and cruises. It was only a matter of time before someone in the street racing community took notice of its presence. I eventually received a flyer for drag racing invitational. A minimum weight of 2800lbs and maximum of 800hp. Rockin' 560-horse with a twin-screw supercharger meant I had to go back to the drawing board. Obviously the first to go were the heavy steel stamped wheels. I shaved around 50lbs off with a set of classic Weld Racing Alumastars. While I was searching for the right wheels, I bookmarked a classified ad for a wrecked '99 Viper ACR. The car went sideways, crossed the center line, over the curb and into a ditch. When I contacted the owner with interest in the Tremec T-56 manual 6-speed, he chuckled and replied "For 2,500 it's yours. And you pull it. AND the driveshaft was broken in the wreck." Ouch. That's a rough deal but, but you rarely see these cars outside of garages and car shows. It was a BITCH to pull it out of the mangled snake but the owner cut me a deal steep enough, I could still have it rebuilt for a grand total of $2,500. I guess he didn't expect me to follow through. I swapped out the twin-screw supercharger and intake for a Mancini Racing Magnesium Cross-Ram Intake manifold and a set of twin 64mm Precision PT6466s to support the 426 GenII Hemi, which has stroked out to 458 cubic inches. I'll keep the rest of the engine work a secret, but it is managing a shave under 790 horsepower and nearly 800lb-ft of torque.

1998 Toyota Supra RZ

Build Sheet:

Setups:

A little while ago I bought a pristine Skyline R34 from a dude named Ricky. I'm not really sure why, but I'm glad I did. My buddy Legacy showed up with an offer I couldn't refuse - his Supra. I've been tempted to drop him an offer on it for a while, but ultimately other projects demanded attention first. Trading the GT-R just made sense to me. It was a good trade up, this Supra hauls ass!!
